Our last outdoor stop of the day was York Harbor. Itapos;s a town where weapos;d love to live. Frankly, anywhere on the seacoast thatapos;s near Portsmouth is fine, but we especially like York Harbor.
Since itapos;s "ghost season," we paused at haunted Old York cemetery in the middle of York Harbor.
At the right is one of about two dozen photos that I took there. The color is not enhanced... It really looks like that, at dusk. (I wish weapos;d gotten there earlier in the day, when the sunlight would have made the scene really vivid)
It was a really good day for us, reminding us of the immediate goal, which is to get back to the seacoast ASAP. The energy there is different, and -- for us -- itapos;s revitalizing, lighter and we feel more ourselves, if that makes sense.
The sea air, the quality of the light and colors, and... Well, everything about the place... It feels right to us.
Itapos;s especially nice to be with HT, who not only feels like I do about the seacoast, but may actually like it more than I do.
All in all, it was great to take a day off and enjoy so many things that make this area unique.
(Whatapos;s it like in interior NH? As Iapos;m writing this, I can hear the loudspeakers at the Little League field about two blocks away from us. It seems like theyapos;re having tractor-pull events this weekend. I thought it was just yesterday, but I can hear the rumbles, voices, and crackles of the small-town loudspeaker again this morning.)
Anyway... Today, my son is visiting us to learn to make pasta from scratch. I havenapos;t made it in years, so this may be an adventure
